BMC Meeting 26th August 2008

Seven club members competed in the BMC races at Exeter.
Nathan used the 800m as a speed workout, breaking the 2 minute barrier for
the second time as he finished 3rd in the men's C race in 1:59.99. Kurtis
Gibson produced another PB performance as he finished second in the E race
with 2:05.83. Dan Wright had the misfortune to miss the start of his race
and had to line up alongside Kurtis - unfortunately the 32 second opening
200m was rather too brisk and Dan suffered on the second lap to finish in
2:27.24. Kieran Young ran a solid 2:31.95 for 7th in the men's H race, while
club distance coach Ian Humphreys threatened a rare race win until a torn calf brought him
to an abrupt stop half way around the last circuit. Aoife Thorogood was the
only club representative in the girls races, finishing a solid second in the
C race with 2:25.93. Mendip's throws sensation Matt Norton was in great
form, as he threw yet another PB in the hammer, with a 51.42m effort for
second place in the open competition. He also finished third in the shot
with 10.01m.
