EASTER BUNNY 10K
Six MAC runners took to the roads on Easter Monday for the Easter Bunny 10K, organised by Yeovil Town Road Running club, with another six juniors running in the one mile fun run. Nathan Young quickly got into the leading pack, but was reluctant to follow eventual winner Adrian Marriott when he pushed on before the half-way point. In his debut over the distance Nathan held on for a great 33:12 to finish in fifth place to pick up the first under 20 prize and break Dan Layton's club record set in last years race. Tim Attwell ran solidly to clock 40:37 as third junior male and 83rd overall, while Ottalie Day collected the prize for first junior female as she clocked 48:13 in 219th. A little way back, club sprints coach Peter Grosjean was pleased to run a new personal best for the distance with 50:46 in 263rd. Husband and wife team Frank and Hazel Attwell ran together, stopping the watch at 56:03 in 325th and 326th place.
Fastest of the Mendip runners in the 1500m fun run was Kieran Young, who finished second in 5:49, with James Williams clocking 6:17 in 6th. Christian Young just held off Alex Williams, with the pair clocking 7:11 and 7:12 in the top quarter of the field. Simone Young finished 36th with 8:07.
