Mendip AC - Club Colours

The Club Kit design and colours came about as a result of a competition held in the early days and won by Jade Tavener.
Jade was in the same year group at Huish Episcopi as Doug Hall and Charles Albrow and was a promising athlete until injuries and college work took their toll.
Her brother Joe, one year younger was also a very good runner and a stalwart of the County team for many years. Together with their Mum Di,who was also a coach, they were among the original founding members of Mendip AC.

DESIGNERS WANTED !
We have had a number of requests for aMAC T – shirt that can be worn in the summer, or at training rather, than the hoodies that are designed for colder occasions.
So in keeping with our “athlete focus”, we are holding a design
competition, which we hope will produce an inspiring yet cool T – shirt that club member will be proud to wear.
All designs need to be submitted by Monday 28th July, and will be posted on the MAC website www.mendipac.org.uk. The actual decision on the best design will be taken by all those members who either send in an email before the start of training on 31st July, or who actually attend the training session at Millfield. The vote will be taken at 7.00pm.

What are we looking for?
The following will give you some ideas to help shape your creative ideas:
- Mendip AC – some of us are really proud of our club, so it would be nice to see the MAC logo somewhere.
The design bit:

We don’t have a Mendip Mascot. So after 5 years it’s about time we did. Can you come up with a face/picture/thing/object/character that is either funny or makes a direct connection to MAC

Slogan. Do we need one, would it make the design too busy, would it make the design stronger? Here are a couple of obvious thoughts just to get the ideas going: Mighty Mendip, Magnificent Mendip, the Mendip Monster, Mendip Megastars, Mendip Marauders, Massive Mendip…?

You – do you want to add your own special name, nick name or first name? Where would you want this front, back, on the sleeve?

Simplicity: Often less is more, and the design has to be made. More design equals higher cost. Something to think about.

The cool bit – would you actually be comfortable wearing your design? If not think again.

The stock of Club Kit now has a permanent home now at the National School Wear shop in Wells at 23 Broad Street , bottom of the High Street, opposite Swan Stationers. They can be contacted on 01749 670000 or by e-mail wells@n-sc.co.uk . There will be new stock being ordered shortly for the coming Track season but there are some half price bargains to be had, particularly on small female sizes. Current stock availability can be seen at CLUB KIT . The shop also do MAC hoodies and sweat shirts and we hope you will try to get along and see them. If you require kit and it is not possible to get to Wells , speak to John Young or your team manager and we will see what we can sort out.
