SCHOOL CLUB LINK

 

MARCH 2007................Mendip Athletics Club in conjunction with Mendip District Council and Wells Blue School are joining together to provide a Schools Club Link for primary and secondary schools in the area. This will provide opportunities for youngsters who have not been involved in athletics before to find out what they are good at and hopefully go on to join a club . Early days yet but David Wright our Chairman signed our part last week so it is starting to happen........

PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

 

Mendip Athletics Club

 

Are committed to working in partnership with

 

Sedgemoor and Mendip School Sport Partnership And Mendip District Council

 

Objective

 

Mendip AC, Blue School Wells, and Mendip District Council will work together to promote junior participation within athletics and to promote links between the three organisations.

 

The parties will work together to provide appropriate opportunities for further development and participation for all young people within the sport, including the use of Young Sports Leaders, according to Mendip AC’s Development local Plan.

 

The parties will support the overall delivery and implementation of the Mendip District Council’s Development Plan.

 

Core Principles

All activities will be run in accordance with UKA & England Athletics guidelines, of particular relevance are those relating to coaching, officiating qualifications and Athletics Welfare.

 

The aim will be to support change to the athletics culture in the UK to one that values diversity and provides opportunities for all individuals to become involved and achieve the full potential in every respect of athletics.

 

All Partners will review this agreement and local delivery programme on an on going basis and will be effective from Jan 2007 to March 2008.

Delivery Partnership Agreement Criteria

 

School to Club Link Criteria

The School to Club Programme (SCL) is committed to creating an environment in which children have an equal opportunity to participate in high quality sport.

 

The target for the SCL is to increase the number of 5-16 year olds from school partnerships participating in accredited athletic clubs. An accredited athletics club means “a club signed up to the UK Athletics clubs:future programme plus working towards the clubmark accreditation process’’

 

The criteria is highlighted in appendix 1

 

Minimum Operating Standards

In addition to the conditions stated in appendix 1 England Athletics and the County Sports Partnership requires all nominated coaches to sign a Code of Conduct. All coaches must hold a current CRB Disclosure certificate or complete a self-declaration form, if waiting for a CRB check.   All nominated coaches will be required to work towards the following courses, Child Protection, Equity, Disability Awareness and First Aid training.

 

 

Monitoring and Evaluation

All partners will be required to assist the England Athletics development team in monitoring the effectiveness of the programme. This will include ensuring that all participants in the programme complete a registration form which is to be returned by the organiser to the England Athletic at Athletics House, Central Boulevard, Blythe Valley Business Park, Solihull, W. Mids, B90 8AJ  In addition organisers should monitor the progress of all participants through the programme and seek feedback information from athletes and parents/carers plus coaches and volunteers, as required by Sport England and other funding partners.

 

 

Payments to Coaches or any Personnel

Should the nominated club employ or make any payments to coaches or any personnel in the delivery of the programme as detailed in appendix 2, they should make adequate provision and take due regard of any legal employment/taxation responsibilities.
